Benefits of Maha Rudra | Rudrabhishek

In his text Mahanava Karma Vipaka, the sage Satapatha described four forms of abhisheka rituals in accordance with Vedic and scriptural teaching. Abhisheka is Lord Shiva's preferred method of worship. These are categorised as Rudram, Ekadasa Rudram, Maha Rudram, and Athi Rudram, with each successive one being more potent than the last. Among devotees, Maha Rudra abhishekam is the most popular.
One Rudram is comprised of the recital of Namaka and Chamaka once each during Maha Rudra.Ekadasa Rudram is 11 rounds of Namakam plus one Anuvaka of Chamakam, i.e. after chanting Namakam, the first Anuvaka of Chamakam is recited, then another round of Namakam is recited followed by the second Anuvaka of Chamakam, and so on until the eleventh round of Namakam is followed by the eleventh Anuvaka of Chamakam.
